Our Cosmetology course incorporates 1500 hours of expansive hands on training and expert instruction.
Theory instruction covers the 32 chapters of Milady curriculum and all students are expected to maintain a minimum GPA of 70% to be able to sit for the CT State Board Examination.
SoNo Academy students access the curriculum through their laptop or tablet with an educational access code.
In the Practical segment our students use mannequins and live models to perform various services, getting them ready to start taking clients on our busy clinic floor. Classroom demonstration, visual presentation, and guest artists are used to help keep our students excited and motivated.
After initial training our students practice in a salon environment accepting clients on our clinic floor. There they overseen and guided by an educator at all times for the most professional experience.
SoNo Academy is a certified cosmetology school with the State of Connecticut . Our school is listed on the Connecticut Department of Public Health’s website.
Completion of SoNo Academy’s course of study will give students the required 1,500 hours necessary to take the licensing examination for the State of Connecticut. Our students have a 95% pass rate for this exam.
